International Prize - GIULIO CESARE - ART EMPEROR
"Julius Caesar was very important for the history of art, was the first to create an art museum, transformed the imperial forum into a Museum. Thanks to the testimony of the Latin writer Pliny the Elder (23-79 AD) we know that in the Forum there was an extraordinary collection of works of art, composed mainly of paintings by the best Greek painters, numerous sculptures, rich collections of gems and other particular objects, like a precious metal breastplate adorned with pearls coming from the shores of Britain. Also in this, the Forum of Caesar worked as a model for the following Fora, which will welcome art collections freely accessible by the public as in a modern museum." - Dott. Salvatore Russo & Francesco Saverio Russo
